Brothers - A short review of Natalie Portman's excellence.

Brothers was a much better movie than I expected. Face it, we've seen tons of these dramas in the past few years. Brother goes to war. He gets killed. Wife falls in love with brother, etc. I'd post a spoiler warning but you already knew the whole movie from the preview. That's a serious problem these days. All these trailers give away too much. By the time the movie comes out, we've already seen the whole friggin' thing. Christopher Nolan has it nailed with the new trailer for Inception. It gives away nothing except the fact that the movie is going to kick you in the nuts.

I was going to review Brothers, but I have nothing great to say. It's a well done realistic drama about the effects of war on the American family. Ok. We've seen it before.

The real standout here is Natalie Portman. I always suspected she'd be a great actress. From her portayal of innocent Matilda in Leon to her role in V For Vendetta, this girl has it. She is a superior actress. Renee Zellwegger and the other female lead annoyances could learn a thing or two from this woman. She's a well defined actress that could go toe to toe with the best. She adds a humanity to each one of her performances that is undeniably charismatic.

If you don't believe me, check her out in Hotel Chevalier.

I'm done sucking on her tit now. Peace.
