GAMER - Derivative Blood Soaked Popcorn Fun

Gamer is an entertaining popcorn flick. This movie is a strange hybrid of The Road Warrior, Blade Runner, Escape from New York,The Matrix, Death Race 2000, and The Running Man. The main problem is that it tries so hard to be it's predecessors but lacks the originality of it those films. Really though, what movie could ...live up to any of those genre classics?

Gerard Butler seems one sided in everything he's done since 300. Michael C. Hall, excellent as Dexter and David Fisher, doesn't get enough screen time in this movie.

I would only suggest seeing Gamer if you're looking for some brainless fun or have some time to waste. If you want to see an awesome movie about the future, check out STRANGE DAYS!!!
